The technology of the future in a modern design

The technology of the future in a modern design

The new Wireless Charger II by VARTA Consumer Batteries will fundamentally change the way we use chargers. The “drop & charge” concept makes charging compatible devices as easy as putting down your keys: simply lay the mobile device on the charging station, and the blue LED ring immediately indicates that the device is being charged. Thanks to the 5 W output, the smartphone is already fully charged after around three hours1.

The VARTA Wireless Charger II uses the Qi-standard for its wireless power transmission. Not only is the standard extremely reliable and efficient, numerous different producers also support it already, which ensures a high degree of compatibility.

Energy and elegance combined

The days of keeping chargers in the drawer are over. That’s because the VARTA Wireless Charger II is both efficient and practical, and also has an elegant appearance thanks to its combination of aluminum and black glass with a carbon finish.

The magic behind wireless charging

Wireless charging is a top technology trend that will become even more popular in the future. The most prominent standard for this – Qi-technology – is already being used in more than 1,300 products. Over the next few years, the number of devices that are equipped with it will continue to rise.

Major smartphone and smartwatch producers are already showing that this technology has the potential to replace charging cables in the long term.

To put it simply, inductive charging is when energy is transmitted to an electric coil in the mobile end device via a magnetic field in the Wireless Charger II. The only condition is that both devices support the same standard. Even mobile end devices with no integrated Qi-technology can be charged with the Wireless Charger II thanks to special Qi-cases2 or Qi-receivers3.
