Varta, a specialist in the rechargeable sector, has launched a new range of stylish battery chargers to help retailers and stockists cash in on the growing shift by customers and businesses to rechargeable batteries. The elegantly designed range offers five new products, including a Solar Charger and a 15 Minute Charger, all of which are designed to meet the growing consumer demand for portable power.
For consumers, speed and portability is of the essence when it comes to rechargeable power and this is something which Varta has put at the heart of its rechargeable range. Varta’s stylish silver power stations are designed to refresh batteries in the quickest time possible and each charger comes with its own set of cells, for instance the 15 Minute Charger and Travel Charger come with four AA Varta Power Accu batteries and the Power Station is supplied with a set of fully charged Ready2Use batteries.
Varta’s new range of charging stations includes:
The 15 Minute Charger
Ideal for recharging batteries either at home or on the move, this unit fully charges batteries in just 15 minutes. Run from the mains electricity or via an in-car socket, the charger handles both AA and AAA batteries as well as powering four units at a time. The charger is sold with four AA 2500mAh batteries.
Power Station charger
This unit allows the user to charge up to eight batteries at once. Intended for home or office use, it offers a six hour charging time, and houses up to eight cells – four AA and four AAA. The Power Station is sold with four Ready2Use batteries.
Travel Charger
This charger is ideal for people on the move. Working on any global voltage, the unit offers both mains and in-car charging via a supplied car adaptor. The unit handles both AA and AAA, charges Ni-MH and Ni-Cd cells and has slots for powering four batteries at a time. The charger comes with four AA 2500mAh batteries.
Solar Charger
Perfect for those that are concerned about the environment, the Solar Charger is a green source of portable power that’s also kind to the wallet. The ‘common phone charger adaptor’ due to be introduced by all the major mobile phone companies in 2010 comes as standard with the charger.
Solar power offers freedom from cables and power sockets, allowing consumers to be in the most remote corner of the world and still charge up their camera or mobile phone. The charger has no usage costs and incurs no waste batteries.
Backup Charger
This unit is the ideal solution to keep power-hungry devices such as mobile phones, MP3 players or games controllers going for longer. Unlike other similar products, the Backup Charger also charges two AA batteries through its USB function via a laptop. The charger is also future proof as it comes with the ‘common phone charger adapator’ due to be introduced by all the major mobile phone companies in 2010. It also comes with two AA Ready2Use batteries. Features include:
Vince Armitage, divisional vice president of Varta Consumer Batteries UK, is delighted with the new range and believes it offers another step forward in the evolution of rechargeable portable power. “Rechargeables have come a long way in recent years and Varta has driven the development of the category. Our new range of batteries and chargers offer the best performance on the market.
“The launch of our latest charging units, coupled with our best ever rechargeable cells, really give the retailer and stockist the opportunity to offer the buyer the best possible products while at the same time, boosting profit and retaining margins.”
Earlier this year, Varta’s rechargeable Power Accu range was recommended by Which? – the largest independent consumer body in the UK – as one of the best buys on the market. The range, tested as part of the magazine’s annual batteries test, scored 100 per cent when tested for features such as value and lifespan against other leading brands.
